How will you communicate with us before our charter?

We'll communicate with you primarily by email, with WhatsApp used for timely updates as your charter approaches.

Your booking confirmation and this Guest Guide will provide the information you need to prepare for your day. A few days before your charter, we'll be in touch with any final details, including weather or cruise ship schedule updates (if applicable) that may affect your plans.

If we need to reach you while you're in Roatán, we'll use the mobile or WhatsApp number you provided in your Guest Information Form.

What happens if our cruise ship's schedule changes?

We've got it covered. We monitor cruise ship port schedules daily and adjust your charter around your ship's actual arrival and departure times.

If your port time changes, we'll adjust your pickup and charter accordingly and make the most of the time available. If your time in port is significantly shortened, we'll prioritize the highlights of your Amavi experience—including your freshly prepared lunch and time on the water.

Driving yourself to the marina?

On the day of your charter, we'll ask you to share your live location via WhatsApp so our team can find you and provide directions if needed.

How to share your live location

1. Open your WhatsApp conversation with Amavi Charters.

2. Tap + on iPhone or the paperclip on Android.

3. Select Location.

4. Choose Share Live Location.

5. Select the duration and tap Send.

Is there shade onboard?

Yes. There are shaded areas in the cockpit and on the trampoline, so you can comfortably enjoy the day out of the sun whenever you'd like.

Are there bathrooms onboard?

Yes. We have two private marine restrooms onboard for your comfort.

Can we play our own music?

Absolutely. We have Bluetooth speakers onboard, so you're welcome to connect your phone and play your own music.

Can we bring our own drinks?

Absolutely. Your charter includes a fully stocked selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, and you're also welcome to bring a favorite bottle of wine, champagne, or spirits if you'd like.

Do you offer fishing?

We don't offer fishing excursions. Our charters operate within a marine protected area, where fishing is not permitted. Instead, our time on the water is dedicated to snorkeling, swimming, relaxing, and sailing.

Where do you typically snorkel?

We typically operate in Big Bight, a beautiful section of Roatán's north shore between Pristine Bay and Turquoise Bay. We've established our own snorkel moorings away from the area's busier tour stops, allowing your group to enjoy a more peaceful experience.

You'll have two snorkel/swim stops, with the exact locations selected based on the day's weather and sea conditions. If your group prefers more time in the water, we can sometimes substitute an additional snorkel stop for the downwind sail.

Do I need snorkeling experience?

Not at all. Our experienced snorkel guides accompany you in the water, helping you feel comfortable, keeping an eye on the group, and pointing out interesting marine life along the way. Depending on your group size, you'll have one or two guides in the water with you.

We also provide extra-thick swim noodles for anyone who would like a little additional support while snorkeling.

What if I don't want to snorkel?

That's completely fine. You can relax in the water with one of our floaties, or stay aboard and enjoy the boat from the shade or the sun. While the crew is preparing meals during the snorkel stops, we're always happy to keep you refreshed with drinks.

Can you accommodate dietary restrictions or preferences?

Absolutely. We can accommodate most dietary restrictions and preferences, including peanut and tree nut allergies, dairy-free, gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan diets. If you have a specific ingredient allergy or restriction, simply let us know in your Guest Information Form and we'll adjust the menu for your charter.

What will we be served?

Our menu changes slightly with what's fresh and in season, but a typical day includes grilled local seafood and chicken, garden salad, and our now-famous Thai noodles.

Throughout the day, you'll also enjoy fresh fruit with cinnamon brioche from a local bakery, fresh watermelon after snorkeling, and fresh guacamole with plantain chips as an afternoon snack.

What non-alcoholic drinks do you offer?

We offer a variety of soft drinks, juices, mixers, and filtered water throughout the day. Non-alcoholic beer is occasionally available, based on what we can source locally.

What if I'm prone to seasickness?

Our itinerary is very friendly to guests who are prone to seasickness. We operate inside Roatán's protective reef, where the water is generally calm and the catamaran remains very stable throughout the day, including during the downwind sail.

That said, everyone responds differently to motion. If you're prone to seasickness or know that you are particularly sensitive to movement, we recommend taking whatever precautions you normally use—including any medication you typically take for boat travel.

Are young children comfortable on the charter?

Absolutely. We've welcomed children as young as six months aboard, and our snorkel guides are wonderful with young children and first-time snorkelers.

Our snorkel spots are in clear, shallow water near the reef, where children who are comfortable putting their faces in the water can see plenty of marine life from the surface. We also have inflatable snorkel vests for children who would like additional support in the water.

If your child requires a specific life jacket for floating or swimming, you're welcome to bring it along.
